The aim of the accreditation services of “Competent Person for the Selection, Installation, Application, Inspection and Testing of Anchor Devices for the Attachment of Personal Fall Protection Equipment for Truss-out Bamboo Scaffolds” (ANCP) is to ensure that ANCPs' possess the necessary qualifications and capability in performing the specified duties in selecting, installing, applying, inspecting, and testing of anchor devices, for the attachment of personal fall protection equipment for truss-out bamboo scaffolds.

• Have successfully completed and passed the examination of Certification of Competence in the Selection, Installation, Use, Inspection and Testing of Anchor Devices for the Attachment of Personal Fall Protection Equipment for Truss-out Bamboo Scaffolds; and

• Possess a valid Construction Industry Safety Card; and

• The applicant has satisfactorily completed formal training in bamboo scaffolding works such as an apprenticeship in the trade of bamboo scaffolder under section 28 of the Apprenticeship Ordinance (Cap. 47) or a 1-year full-time basic craft course on construction scaffolding works of the Construction Industry Council Training Academy (CICTA), or has satisfactorily passed the trade test for bamboo scaffolder of the CICTA; and

• Who possesses experience of 10 years or more in bamboo scaffolding works; and

• Has the ability to read and understand the scaffolding plan, design drawings, specifications, and method statement of the scaffolding work in order to competently supervise the scaffolding work and certify that the scaffolding is in safe working order.

• ANCP Renewal:

• The ANCP accreditation is valid for one year for the initial accreditation, and two years for subsequent renewals of accreditation.

• Criteria for Renewal:

• The applicant is a valid holder of a “Certificate of Competence in the Selection, Installation, Use, Inspection and Testing of Anchor Devices for the Attachment of Personal Fall Protection Equipment for Truss‐out Bamboo Scaffolds” issued by the OSHC; the certificate will expire within three months or has expired not more than three months; and

• The applicant has successfully completed and passed the “Revalidation Course of Competence in the Selection, Installation, Use, Inspection and Testing of Anchor Devices for the Attachment of Personal Fall Protection Equipment for Truss‐out Bamboo Scaffolds”; and

• The applicant possesses a valid Construction Industry Safety Card; and

• The applicant has satisfactorily completed formal training in bamboo scaffolding works such as an apprenticeship in the trade of bamboo scaffolder under section 28 of the Apprenticeship Ordinance (Cap. 47) or a 1‐year full‐time basic craft course in the construction of scaffolding works of the Construction Industry Council Training Academy (CICTA), or has satisfactorily passed the trade test for bamboo scaffolder of the CICTA; and

• The applicant possesses experience of 10 years or more in bamboo scaffolding works; and

• The applicant has the ability to read and understand the scaffolding plan, design drawings, specifications and method statement of the scaffolding work in order to competently supervise the scaffolding work and certify that the scaffolding is in safe working order.
