Kwai Tsing Safe Community Designation and Hong Kong Safety and Health Certification Scheme Launching
To further the development of Hong Kong Safe Community and to enhance the quality of safety and health certification system in Hong Kong, the Occupational Safety and Health Council launches "Hong Kong Safe Community Program" and "Hong Kong Safety and Health Certification Scheme" on 27 June. Kwai Tsing District is certified as the very first "Hong Kong Safe Community" under "Hong Kong Safety and Health Certification Scheme" on the same day. The then Chairman of OSHC, Ir. Conrad Wong, BBS, JP hopes the two new programs will become a trustmark for occupational safety and health (OSH) standards, and leading Hong Kong to a safer, healthier and harmonious city.
The then Chairman of OSHC Ir Conrad Wong, BBS, JP said "Hong Kong Safety and Health Certification Scheme" has reached the stringent and professional certification standards of International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and The International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC). The Scheme provides certification services for safety and health management systems and OSH practitioners and competent persons.
